OUR STORY
Skellig Sauna is a space for relaxation, healing and community.
We are a wood-fired sauna business based on the scenic peninsula of Iveragh in southwest Kerry, boasting some of Ireland’s most picturesque beaches and crystal clear waters. We are proud to be situated on the hugely popular routes of The Wild Atlantic Way, The Ring of Kerry, The Skelligs Ring, the upcoming South Kerry Greenway and we are right in the midst of The Dark Sky Reserve, alluring late-night stargazing.
Our aim is to bring our wonderful community together in a healthy and wholesome setting with the intention of caring for our health, cherishing nature, welcoming visitors from all walks of life, and giving back to our habitat what it gives us in abundance; Life!
The benefits of a wood-fired sauna combined with overlooking some of Ireland’s most scenic and beautiful coastlines in the heart of Kerry is pure medicine, our own journey with spending time in nature whilst soaking up the immune-boosting heat has fueled this vision.
“Sharing moments of joy with a community is one of the most rewarding benefits life has to offer.”
ABOUT ME
OUR SUSTAINABILITY AND COMMUNITY INITIATIVES
TREES FOR THE FUTURE
We plant a Native Irish tree to offset every tree used in Sauna heating.
We are very proud to have partnered up with Hometree, which is an Irish Tree planting charity. They have been working hard to establish and conserve permanent native woodland in Ireland, encouraging land regeneration and biodiversity through afforestation, restoration and education.
Ireland is the most deforested country in Europe. Just over 1% of our original forest cover remains. Hometree is changing this. Their vision is the restoration of Ireland’s ancient wildwood. Through conservation, afforestation and education, they aim to create a landscape in which people and forests flourish, together.
COMMUNITY GOALS
By combining sustainability and community-building motives, we organise regular events and gatherings where locals and non-locals can come together in a community spirit to embrace and give back to our habitat. Outdoor yoga, beach cleaning, wild food foraging and hiking are some of the events we will be organising. Keep an eye on our website and social platforms for upcoming events.
